Oh, and by the way....in case anybody wondered how I came to sport the icon "Rockin' Girl Blogger", it was awarded to me by Phelan, A Homesteading Neophyte, way back on August 8th. I thanked her and promptly added the icon on my blog, but never bothered to explain. (I can be pretty slow on he uptake sometimes ;-) Anyhow, I am very grateful and proud to display this award!

Don't think badly of your goldenrod, please. It's a lovely plant that's gotten a bad rap simply because it blooms at about the same time as ragweed. Nobody sees the ragweed, which does have allergy-producing pollen, and blames their allergy attacks on the goldenrod. Poor goldenrod's pollen is to large to be the culprit, and it's taken SO much abuse over the years... I've always loved it!

Yes! I came to post that very same thing, but I see Marion beat me to it. This is what Bluestone says:

"Solidago has gotten a hayfever reputation because it blooms at the same time as Ragweed - Goldenrod does not aggravate hayfever!"

Of course my friend Cheryl says it does aggravate her allergies and I don't know what I'm talking about and I should just shut up about it.

Heh....everybody has an opinion, right? I'm too stubborn to avoid the things I'm allergic to, so I get allery injections every week to build up immunity and suffer fewer symptoms. I fugure it's easier to "fix me" than avoid allergens, especially flowers!
