...then barely sprinkle.....
......no really, our storms have been all drama......including "lights out".....but no real precip.....just bake, blow, barely spinkle, repeat......forcing me to repeat-this activity-over and over.....

...and being the optimist (pollyanna), I find the dry has made fungal diseases a distant memory, and slugs? What slugs? I'm still gonna do a rain-dance though..."left-foot, right-foot, shake your booty...." Wish me luck!!

Ugh...that's hot! If you have to put up with that kind of heat, you at least deserve a good soaking.
Did we know you lived near a lake/pond?
Why are you losing power?
Thanks Chuck! I think I deserve a good soaking too, and I don't mean just my head! ;-) I live on the Menominee river that separates northeast Wisconsin from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It's a nice, deep river with a fair amount of sport/fishing boat traffic, but no industrial water craft. My power usually goes out for an hour or so, often because the wind has blown a tree limb across a power line. I don't mind, but the "charm" wears off rather quickly.
I had to go look at a map because I didn't know what you were talking about. Now I see! :) :)
How nice to live on a river. (I hope it never floods.)
That's where I'm fortunate-my particular lot is on a high bank, about 8' above the normal high water line. I don't even have to carry flood insurance, and if it ever did actually flood out my yard, then the brown house across the river would be completely underwater! (Their yard does get somewhat flooded some years.)
