So I'm driving to work this morning, enjoying the pretty sunrise...and I was reminded of Hank over at http://lakecounty.typepad.com/ and his post about just enjoying one's blessings. I am also guilty of taking simple pleasures for granted from time to time, and can be heard whining about my commute. But here are some of the awesome sights I get to enjoy back and forth every day...it is indeed a wonderful life!

It IS a beautiful life.
I hope you have wonderful day!
Hank
Hi Lisa,
Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures. That sunrise is spectacular!
Thank you Hank...I did!
Yolanda-I was very happy how that sunrise pic came out, the camera actually captured what I saw exactly as it was! The sky was so red, it looked like the trees were on fire!
Lisa, the sunrise is gorgeous and I envy you the sight of the eagle.
What kind of critter is in the tree with the background of blue sky? [Your photo isn't fuzzy - I'm just getting old.]
Annie
Annie, that critter is a porcupine. It looks soft and fluffy, I think because the tree was swaying and hard to get him in good focus. They climb way up like that to eat tender branches. The loggers around here kill them every chance they get, but I think they're cute. Not cool to hit one on the road though...I've pulled quills out of my tires! That eagle was awesome-he let me stop the truck, back up, roll down the window, and focus the camera-all while sitting in a tree right by the road! The flash was on "auto", and went off which made him fly, so I felt bad for disturbing him-but I was happy to get such a close picture!
Lisa, thanks for the reminder to stop and notice what is around us...I'm just as guilty of getting caught up in things and forgetting to appreciate all the little gifts in life.
Beautiful pictures!
Thank you Leslie and Lisa!
Is that an eagle??? Sure looks like it. Wow.
Hi Jan! Yes it is an eagle...I have the privelege of seeing one most every day up here, and I never get blase' or complacent about it. I wish it had been lighter out for that pic, but it was very early.
