That's More Like It

The snow melted and spring has returned to normal... ....as if that was a regular rain shower....
....the flowers almost seem to have enjoyed it!
Beautifully blooming their hearts out...
...right through the grass and lawn debris.
Some spring bushes have begun to bloom as well, this is white forsythia Abeliophyllum distichum...
...hooray spring!!

Ooh, love the white forsythia--didn't realize they came in anything other than yellow. Glad your snow is gone!

The white forsythia has been hardier and a more reliable bloomer for me here in zone 4. It smells nice, but not as strong as the yellow. The snow disappeared so fast, I don't think my wintersown seedlings even noticed.

Oh, I want a white forsythia, and I see it's hardy in my zone. Beautiful!

Mine would bloom even better in more sun, but it IS tough as nails for northern gardens. If you follow the link in the text, I see Forestfarm offers it in a pink bloomer too. (That's new since I ordered mine from them.)

Oh, I'd love white AND pink!!

RIGHT?! They're such delicate and pretty little flowers, I think they'd look lovely planted together with a cute species bulb mix below them.

Wow, it's like the snow never even happened! I figured everything would be really sad or really dead...
I'm loving that forsythia too. The white and the pink WOULD look awesome together!

I'm amazed, too...guess I forget how hardy and smart my plants are. Now the mishap I had during a prescribed burn in the yard, THAT left a more lasting impression on the bulbs in that area. (Story for another post :)
