Thanks! At first I thought it was some rare bird I'd never seen before :)
I don't think I've seen a pine siskin IRL, but now I know what to look for (minus the white cap!).
They're adorable little birds, I get fairly large flocks in the winter. If the flock gets startled and flies to a tree, they kind of "rain" back down to the feeders in the way they drop and fly out of the tree...it's neat to watch.
I reallly need to prioritize the bird learnin'. Why aren't these finches?
"Why aren't these finches?"...because they're Siskins, silly! ;-) They sure look finch-y to me too, though.
So if you can identify them, they need to be named, right? Have you named this little guy?
How about "snowy top Sally siskin"?
