"Step away from the flower, and nobody gets hurt!" (Except pollinators and other insects, because that's what this Crab spider eats.) Submitted to Friday Ark.

I love crab spiders, especially when they turn yellow on yellow flowers.

Thanks for the gnome picture! You are my first gnome pic submission!

I've got a bunch of those here too. I think your camera must be better than mine, I can never get good bug shots. Well, I guess you need to be a good photographer to get good shots....

Oooh, that is a scary looking spider!

Cinj-Aw, thank you! I think it's as much luck and chance as it is talent, though I do LOVE taking pictures, since like 3rd grade with my old 110! (My hands aren't always that steady though, so I usually take at least 3 shots to get a really sharp one.) My camera has 10 megapixels which is fairly high, but it's still that staedy hand (or tripod) more than anything. I never really use a tripod either, cuz' I'm mostly cruising around the yard enjoying it and snapping on the fly.

Meemsnyc-RIGHT? I bet the victims feel the same way!

hahahaha, Unfortunately, I have brought a few of those spiders into the house when I cut flowers. They don't like that too much.

That's pretty cool---and you know how I feel about spiders.

Deb-In the house?! Heh, I bet the spider's hunting sucess rate really drops indoors! :)

Chuck-Yea, for a spider they're awfully pretty. (Though I like spiders regardless.)

I've tried to photograph those spiders on the Brugmansia and thought the results were ok, but wow - you can even see the 'face' in your spider picture, Lisa!

Thanks Annie! I just love these little guys, and I seem to have a LOT of them. In fact, I began to notice them by accident on most of my macro flower pictures. Now I seek them out on purpose.

Nice job, girly! I love it! Is that a coneflower? Too cool.

lisa said...

Thanks! Yes it is a coneflower, "Green Envy".
