"Double your pleasure, double your fun"...alright, I couldn't leave snake pictures at the top of the page (for the sake of some of my more squeamish readers), so check out these two blue jays...I thought of the old gum advertisement right away, and luckily they moved in concert long enough for me to get this. They're usually more wary (I was outside on the porch about 7' away), but food is a great motivator.

Food is apparently a big motivator--those are some pudgy bluejays! lol. Too cute. But I like the snake picture better... I think snakes are cool.
By the way, are you feeling any better yet?
I hope you're feeling better, too...this time of year, with spring popping out, you need to feel GOOD so you can enjoy it!
Very cooperative, they are...for you!! Neat picture!
Take care of yourself.
Great picture...
Love/hate blue jays. I wonder if they screech in Wisconsin like they do in California. I've got a pair that nest in a big tree next door. Sometimes they are so incredibly screechy (at me?) that I just have to laugh.
What a fabulous picture! Timing is everything, eh? ;-)
We could never get that close to bluejays. They seem to be one of the more intelligent and unfortunately raucous birds around here and will fly away and scold you from their perch if you approach closer than 25 feet.
You could have left the snake at the top of your blog! I guess a fast ribbon snake can really give you a start if you're not expecting to see one.
Thanks guys! I am feeling better finally-but I can sure sympathize with people who have chronic illness, it's been over a week for me, and it really gets you down emotionally after awhile. I can only imagine how bad it feels to be sick for months at a time.
Chuck-they absolutely do screech and complain, especially if I'm in the way and they want to eat! I love the way they chase away squirrels when they want the food-they're not scared of anything!
Blue jays are such beautiful birds - you'd think nature would have given them a prettier voice. They look like they posed for that shot. Cool!
Glad you're feeling better.
(Am I the only one who doesn't like snakes?)
entangled-thanks...I doubt you're the only one disliking snakes, I think a lot of gardeners get used to them since they eradicate pests. (Or the other snake-haters haven't commented yet).
I love your snake shots!Glad you had the nerves to photograph them.If you are startled anything makes you jump.A lone frog nearly gave me a heart attack when he jumped from long grass in my last garden.I did not expect to see one in my garden as there was no water for miles that i knew about.
the bluejays are striking a pose for you,Lovely photo :)
Your timing really seems to be perfect. I'm already waiting eagerly for more animals. :)
I keep coming back to this.
What a shot.
Thanks Snappy!
Chconet-I'm waiting eagerly for more animals, too....I just love living up here for that very reason!
Hank-thanks! I was surprised to see them moving this way, and even more so that they let me take the picture!
