And now a selection of "cute" and "pretty"....baby tree frog=
cute....

....some nice striped tulips=
pretty......

.....male Rose-Breasted Grosbeak=arguably
cute and pretty....

.....and then these rain clouds moving in at sunset=pretty, and a
big relief! It's been
way too dry around here! Hooray!

Lisa, you are such a detail-oriented gardener!!! However did you manage to color-coordinate the tulips with the birds! Ha!
I would love to see a grosbeak in real life.

I haven't had any non-bluejays in my garden yet this year. Well, maybe some finches. I have to find a better place for the suet (which fed the bluejays), because it made just as much of a mess on the ground as the birdseed. Well, it won't grow weeds, but I'm still worried it will attract rats.
No rats allowed! Rats circle slash.
Annie-the color coordinating was a complete coincidence! Wow...I think I blew my own mind! The grosbeak's mostly eat the black oil sunflower seed. They may also like something about the local habitat, because I see males and females at the feeder all summer.
Chuck-Rats! Yea, those creeps are best avoided at all costs! Amazing to me, I saw a chipmunk with a mouse in it's mouth (I'm certain it wasn't a baby chip, got a good look), so I don't notice mice or rats, except mice in the garage.....:( ! I have placed dryer sheets all around in there, and it seemed to drive them out temporarily (less poison disappeared), but as the scent faded, they returned.
What a pretty tulip! I really need to try some again next year if they can be so pretty!
Thanks Leslie! I always seem to get sucked in by the pretty pictures in the bulb catalogs. And although I usually kick myself while I'm digging a zillion holes, I have yet to regret it the next spring when I see the blooms!
