The persistence of life amazes me...or in this case it's insistence...look at these bulbs "thumbing their noses" at the snow around them-their leaves aren't even yellow! I was so excited to see this when I got home from work last night! I even told them, "Well bless your little hearts! Aren't you just the toughest bulbs! Thanks for hanging in there for me!"
Yea....I talk to the houseplants, too...maybe I'm goofy...maybe not! :)

Its never goofy to talk to plants. They are many times nicer to us than people are.
I figure there is nothing to lose by talking to them...it helps calm them down when they're stressed and I always apologize when I do something like accidentally prune the wrong branch...just so they don't think they should give up...maybe I'm just goofy too! ;)
Sometimes you just have to talk to them. Some plants don't shape up until you tell them straight up that you're done, I swear!
See, Lisa - no matter how goofy we are, other 'enabling' gardeners will drop by to encourage us in our nuttiness. I talk to my plants, too, of course.
I just wanted to let you know that the YouTube is up and I gave you photo credit.

Wow! Actually, our plants would look the same way here in Germany at that time. But this year summer starts in April so that nature is far advanced.
... you're not goofy. :)
Reminds me of a poem I recently came across (and enjoyed)... talking to plants and such...
Tit for Tat
I often pass a gracious tree
Whose name I can't identify,
But still I bow, in courtesy
It waves a bough, in kind reply.
I do not know your name, O tree
(Are you a hemlock or a pine?)
But why should that embarrass me?
Quite probably you don't know mine.
