Bonsai update-I decided to add mosses to the top of the juniper soil, and covered them slightly with plastic wrap to hold in moisture initially. Then while waiting for my koi decoration, I found this little toy that my nephew left here. While he may not be the usual type of figurine you see, I ask you...is this not the face of a "Bonsai Warrior"?

LOL! "Bonsai Warrior," huh? Well he is mean and green... :)

Yes, he looks quite warrior like. Add him in!

I wish I had the right personality for bonsai. I'm pretty sure I don't. I know I wouldn't be able to cut and prune that much, and I would have a hard time wiring the thing into shape too. I am positive my bonsai would get a disease and die and be depressing. They are really interesting to look at tho'. Do keep us posted.

Chuck, I must say that I agree with you...which is partly why I got into bonsai in the first place-to wean myself from fear of pruning. I am that way outdoors, and I know it holds back some performance potential in my plants. Plus I like the creative aspect of bonsai in re-creating outdoor scenes in miniature. So I either make some cool plant art, or become a bonsai "serial killer"! ;)

Keep it up to your creative works. I am not an bonsai expert, but I know it is not easy to maintain. I do have some in my garden, but not as attractive as yours. Need a good coach like you and look forward to learning from you. Thanks and have a fruitful day,

Thanks so much for the vote of confidence, but I have since murdered this poor specimen. :( I'm afraid that taking my advice won't help you much!
