The Yard Is Alive-with the sound of froggies! I can hardly take a step without a frog of some kind jumping-they're everywhere! Bad news for the bugs, but great news for me-I think they're really cute!

How great all those frogs.Photo opportunities abound..you must have something frog friendly in your garden. What attracts them do you think?
The frogs are attracted by a number of things, I think: lack of chemicals, soil amended with horse manure (which brought out more worms and bugs for food), a lawn unmowed ALL year (impractical for many folks), lots of cover on my mostly wooded, 1/2 acre lot, and the fact that I live on a large river (although it moves too quickly to harbor/hatch eggs), and the containers of still water I allow to remain on the ground in various places all season (empty basins, etc.), somewhat out of laziness, somewhat on purpose. Although still water can breed mosquitos, it also hatches frog eggs. I find myself more scared of a yard without frogs than West Nile Virus...call me foolish...
Wow, I thought we had a lot of frogs. Well, I guess we do, but not as many as you.
Cool frogs!
