Merry Christmas!

Luckily we got an early start on a white Christmas....
.....because this morning brought rain for a wet Christmas! The snowcover is by no means disappearing, but certainly becoming soggy and more translucent. Therefore a bath is in order....

....for Mr. Blue Jay here. (I always assign "male" status to these birds, for all I know this is a female).

There! Clean and preened for dinner...

....building energy for the re-freeze and new snow due tonight! Here we go again *~<]:-)

Happy belated Xmas! I haven't seen any jays at my feeders recently... I did see a flicker for the first time, though. If I either knew more about flickers or could find my bird book, I'd know exactly which kind it was!! It rained on Xmas here, too, and we've gotten a little snow before and since, but not as much as you. I actually like snow--it's the only thing that makes winter bearable and bright, not dull and drab! :)

I love the snow too, I moved north for that very reason. I figured if I have to have cold, then gimmie snow to play in! *~<]:-)

I'm sure glad that we headed out for our travels on Christmas rather than waiting a day. I really should get a heater to put in my birdbaths for the winter. I'd imagine that bathing has to be a bit cool this time of year though. Brrr!

Glad you had safe travels! Yea, I agree that's gotta be a mighty cold dip, even with a heated birdbath. It just keeps the water from freezing, it sure isn't warm!
