Anyway, isn't it beautiful?!

Here is the name of my lovely, prickly, fuzzy friend....

...even when the bloom is closed (as it does at dusk), I'm thrilled with this flower!
You see, I am a notorious cactus rotter from way back. But my friend the "cactus guru" was kind enough to send me several cacti to "train with"...and by jove, I think I'm getting it! :)

Lisa, That is a lovely cactus bloom! I've seen yellow and pink blooms, but not orange (not that I'm any kind of cactus expert). I love the flower--it looks so unlikely to be coming out of that plant! P.S. Yay for reusing plant tags! I tend to use pencil for this very purpose (on old mini blinds).
I love cactus flowers. What fun to have one in your home that you grew!
Sande-RIGHT?! I was absolutely thrilled!
Monica-Thank you, I sure like it! I have some Night blooming Cereus (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) which are more like Christmas cactus, and I hope they will bloom for me eventually also. And I am a big reuse/recycler with most everything...my plant tags usually fall apart before I discard them :)
Amazing! You have quite the green thumb.
Knatolee-Thank you! My mentor gets all the credit :)
