Please tell me.... ...do you think my blue tail.....
...makes my butt look big?
Well Ms. Five-Lined Skink, I wouldn't say bigger, just more noticeable. Submitted to Friday Ark.

Wow! That's beautiful! Is that a pet? Or a garden visitor?

Thank you! Garden visitor, actually...and I seem to have a lot of them. Thankfully they are very good company! ;-)

They are really beautiful. We have skinks and gekos here but nothing as colorful as that. I love having them arround.

The first time I saw one of those in my garden I truely thought I was losing my mind. I actually called the North Texas Herpitological Society to report a new lizard. They laughed at me.

Well that wasn't very nice of them...they should have appreciated your enthusiasm!

What a pretty lizard Lisa, love that blue tail!

Thank you, Yolanda! When they wake up for the season, I'll be sure to pass along the kudos. :) They're all still under about 3 feet of snow...*sigh*.

That skink is SO COOL! Other than birds (lots of birds, hungry, hungry birds...) the only critters I've seen in my garden are toads and little green anole lizards. The lizards are cute, especially when the males get aggressive and display their red throats.

Nice shots, Lisa. We have a lot of skinks around our place, but I've never been able to get a good photo of one. They are too quick and won't let me get close enough.

Marion-I really like anoles, too...I used to keep them as pets. Funny how the males carry on...they are quite territorial in captivity too. I've witnessed violence first hand, and learned to be careful not to purchase more than one male.

Marvin-Thanks! Some blurring was unavoidable since they're so fast. Usually I can sneak up close enough for a decent zoom before they run.
