Freakish fun for my freakish life...lately I've been mostly absent from the blogosphere, due to illness as well as my grown son moving back in with me (temporarily!!) Anyhow, we took a trip to The Rave/Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee to see Marilyn Manson last week-great show! These pics are from the venue web site, but our seats were in the balcony and not too shabby...

....as expected, he employed some props, and this "waitress" was particularly convincing... ....lucky for her, she was only a robot! She actually walked across the stage in a very lifelike fashion, and then off with her head!!
Then later in the show, he mooned the audience and spun around for a full frontal flash....fun stuff, people!

A full frontal flash from Marilyn Manson...

... that's all you, baby! (I dig lots of the music, but the man himself... ick.)

*grin*

Oh no, I agree with you about Mr. Manson's...um...body-I didn't need to see that! It was just the sort of amusing stunt I expected from him. I find him to be very talented, but not exactly attractive. (Heck, I think full-frontal nudity isn't such a good look for ANY guy, unless it's the one you're involved with.) I'm more of a "chest and ass" girl myself! ;-)

I'm not really familiar with his music, but I've seen him on tv and he seems like an interesting individual! (He would've gotten arrested in Alabama for that stunt, I'm sure!)

How fun that you can go to a concert with your son, though. :)

Oh yea Karen, my son and I are concert buddies big time! It's great to know that I'll always have somebody who will say "Hell yea!" to any show anywhere. As for Manson...he's been arrested and censored in several states already, yet nothing seems to phase him. I like that.

Yeah, I totally agree with you there, Lisa. Part of why the whole idea of "male lingerie" just cracks me up. Have you ever been to a male strip club? I went, once, with a bachelorette party (I was in the wedding, so I couldn't duck out of it)... and I seriously laughed through the whole thing. Especially when one guy came out with feathers attached to leather cords that wrapped around his biceps... way too Chippendales, circa 1980!

Wow, you are way cooler than I am.

Kim-Heh...oh yea, I saw a group called "The Ultimate 5" back in the 80's, with all their glitter thongs and "tuxedo" collars...very amusing. I will admit that 4 of them were just the kind of "beefcake deluxe" that I've always liked, and only one was too skinny. The grey-haired ladies in the audience were the most entertaining...one took down a dancer's briefs (to reveal the thong) with her mouth while blindfolded! The grannies were the most aggressive gropers, too. It was something else.

Aunt debbi/kurts mom-Why thank you! "Cool" is highly subjective though...I bet you're bitchin' cool in your own right! :) I find anybody that can play an instrument or sing to be super-cool...I couldn't carry a tune in a sealed container!

Well I totally agree with you on the "beefcake deluxe". I hired a stripper for my best friends bachelorette party and when the little skinny dude arrived I damn near sent him back. Later I was glad I didn't cause my mom and the bride's mom had a freakin' blast, I kid you not. I got pictures to prove it, Baby! heh Those grannies know how to rock. :)

Heh! My mom took me to see Neil Diamond with her. I guess she couldn't find a baby sitter or something.

Exciting to hear about robots!

Vonne-Heh..."throw the little ones back" is a good policy, I think (for fishing AND men) ;-) However, my personal rules are very flexible and made to be broken...y'know how it is?

Chuck-I bet that was a terrific show! I'm presuming this was awhile back in his heyday too...cool. Robots on stage are the shit...I saw ZZ Top several years ago, and they had a big automated stage that was a junkyard with lots of moving parts (for the "Recycler" tour)...it was a feast for the eyes!

Hey lucky you! I'd love to see a Marilyn Manson concert ... not my style of music, but I'd appreciate the show.

I hope you start blogging more regularly. The snow will be gone soon ... hopefully.

Thank you, Kate...I miss blogging but my life has been really hectic lately. Slowly but surely I hope to get back in the groove.

That Neil Diamond show was *great*. It was 1981. I was 11-years-old. He did "Sweet Caroline" like five times and the whole auditorium (what, 15,000 people?) sang along.

He was (is?) known for doing popular songs several times in a row, and playing all night long. Nothin' wrong with that.

Wow...1981....heh, that was the year I graduated from high school. You're lucky to have been to such a good show. I really love it when the audience gets into it, too. My sister took me to see Crosby, Stills and Nash (no Young) way back in 1977, and they put on a nice show, came out for one encore, then left the stage. The audience was cheering (and holding up lit lighters), and the house lights came up to indicate the show was over. But nobody would leave or stop cheering, and after fully 10 minutes of this, the lights went down and the band came back out. Crosby (I think) said "Wow, we were feeling down and not really into playing tonight, but you people are amazing! Thank you!" , and they played for another full hour. It was the coolest thing I've ever seen.
