Found my worm link-:
...and although I'm anxious to get started, I know how things go with me ever since my "round tuit" got lost-make the bin first, then order worms! Pictures to follow when it all comes together....and here's another helpful link-http://www.wormdigest.org/ , it's a vermiculture information site. You know what they say, "knowlege is power"....hopefully, it's also survival for my 2nd try with worms (for their sake!)

Greetings Lisa! Thanks for visiting Arboreality - I've offered a few thoughts on your question, as well as a couple links to other resources. Good luck!

Also, have fun with your wormies. A friend of mine has really enjoyed her vermiculture project this year, and while I've never tried it, it's always looked like so much fun! Maybe I'll get a little one started in my kitchen... :)

Happy Gardening,
JLB

I was thinking of doing this as well. It will have to wait until next year though. Tell me how things work out for you.

Hi Lisa,
I am having worms eat my garbage too this summer . . . first time I have gotten into the worm thing.
I'll post about it someday.
good luck with yours,
Becky

I love worms and vermicomposting! I shred a lot of paper in the course of my work. Since the recyclers won't take it in my area (paper in shredded form slips through the machinery), I put it in the compost heap, along with a bunch of worms. Works like a charm. I hear they are attracted to coffee grounds, too, so I dump those in there fairly regularly to keep them happy.

Of course, I've not had to purchase any yet. My four-year old son is an amazing red worm hunter. I think his daily record is 20.

I look forward to reading about your worm adventures!

Hi! Just got to your blog for the first time. What a fun blog it is! I love your freaky looking plants, there was a hair allium, some type of hairy clemetis, a stunning caladium. (Wonder if I can grow these things. I did find a site selling hair alliums!) Loving all the little froggies and snake pics, and some interesting garden deco. I'll be back soon.
