I have Sambucus mexicana (a blue el...Oh, sambucus. I have Sambucus mexicana (a blue elder native in western states) in my garden. I only put it in last summer/fall and it died to the ground. It's been coming up slowly for several weeks now. Finally, yesterday, it's taller than the *strawberries* growing around it. Sigh.
